The Board of Directors of the Ohio High School Athletic Association met Thursday at the OHSAA office in Columbus for its October meeting. Listed below are the highlights from the meeting. The complete set of meeting minutes will be posted in their entirety at OHSAA.org.

-       The Board approved Shawnee Lanes in Chillicothe as the state tournament site for the girls and boys bowling championships March 5-6.

-       The Board approved the 2010 winter sports tournament regulations for girls and boys basketball, bowling, gymnastics, ice hockey, girls and boys swimming and diving and wrestling. The tournament regulations will be posted on each sport’s page at OHSAA.org. School administrators and coaches should review these regulations, especially the representation to the state tournaments in each sport.

The Brooklyn and Kent district winners will meet in the first semifinal game, followed by the winners of the Sylvania and Columbus districts in the second semifinal game. Game times are TBA.

-       The Board voted to implement the plan to reorganize the District Officials Committees. A Board subcommittee has been working on the plan for some time and gathered input from each of the OHSAA’s six districts.

-       The Board’s Hall of Fame subcommittee recommended to the Board that former Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans three-sport standout Susan Nash Sugar be nominated for National Federation of State High School Association’s Hall of Fame
