Sectional, District, Regional and
State Semifinals Media Credential Requests:
Media shall
contact the tournament site manager to request media credentials. Go
to the OHSAA’s
Girls Soccer
or Boys Soccer
web pages to access the various district websites (for sectional and
district games), the regional tournament site managers and the state
semifinal site managers.
State Finals Media Information:
The
following information was prepared to assist you with your coverage
of the upcoming OHSAA boys and girls soccer state championship
games. Please contact Tim Stried (tstried@ohsaa.org or 614-267-2502,
ext. 124) at the OHSAA office should you have additional questions.
Previews and additional information will be posted on the OHSAA web
site the week of the state tournament.
Dates and Location:
Nov. 11 (all
three boys championship games) and 12 (all three girls championship
games) at Columbus Crew Stadium. The address is One Black & Gold
Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43211. The stadium is located at the
northeast corner of the Ohio State Fairgrounds and is visible from
Interstate 71 just north of downtown Columbus. From I-71, take the
Hudson Street exit. If coming from the north, proceed straight onto
Silver Drive, which winds around directly to the stadium. If coming
from the south, turn left onto Hudson Street, cross over I-71 and
turn left onto Silver Drive, which winds around directly to the
stadium.

Media Credentials for the State
Finals:
Media shall use
the OHSAA’s official soccer credential application form and fax it
to Tim Stried at 614-267-1677. The deadline is 2 p.m. on Thursday,
Nov. 10. Credentials will be held for pickup at Gate 8 on the
northwest side of Crew Stadium. All media must show company
identification (ID badge) to pick up their credentials. No
credentials will be issued to school, student, parent or freelance
photographers.
Confirmation Email and Approved
List:
Upon processing a
credential application, the OHSAA will send a confirmation email to
the media outlet. In addition, a list of those media members who
have been approved for credentials will be posted on the credential
information page at OHSAA.org.
Parking:
Media who
have been approved for credentials will be able to park free of
charge by showing their company identification (ID badge) to the
parking attendants, who will check the approved credential list for
confirmation.
Broadcasting Availability and
Rates:
Live or
tape-delayed radio and audio webcasting, as well as tape-delayed
television and delayed video webcasting, is available per rates
found on the 2011-12 OHSAA Broadcast Fees chart.
Media Work Space, Wireless
Access, Telephones:
Work space for
media members is available on a first-come, first-served basis in
the press box, which is located in the northeast corner of Crew
Stadium. Wireless access is available, as well as telephone
connections for credit card, collect or toll-free calls only.
Postgame Interviews:
Coaches
and student-athletes are available on the field for interviews after
BOTH awards ceremonies have concluded. There are no official press
conferences.
Lineups, Box Scores and Recaps:
Official
programs, pregame starting lineups and postgame box scores will be
distributed in the press box. Box scores and recaps will be posted
on the OHSAA web site as soon as possible following each game. The
same information will also be posted in the Associated Press
Marketplace for AP members.
Photographs
Available:
Rather than
sending a stringer, media outlets needing photographs from a state
tournament are encouraged to contact the OHSAA’s official
photographer, Impact Action Sports Photography. Their website is
www.impactactionphotos.com (click on the media request form), or
contact Joe Maiorana (photojoe2707@yahoo.com,
614-266-1674) or Ben Barnes (barnziben@gmail.com).
Coaches, school staff, freelance
photographers and parents of competitors are not permitted to
receive media credentials. Media outlets found to be in violation
could be subject to reduced access at future OHSAA state
tournaments.
