Annual Renewal of OHSAA Officiating Permit

    Renewing your OHSAA Officiating Permit
All OHSAA registered officials are required to renew their officiating permits annually in the month of June. 
  • STEP 1: RENEWAL INFORMATION EMAILED BY OHSAA
    Renewal information will be emailed or mailed to each registered official with an active status the end of May.  It is imperative that you update myOHSAA with address changes.  A postcard reminder will be received by those officials without a valid email address.

    Note: deadline for renewal without penalty is June 30, 2009.
    NOTE: THE OHSAA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR NON-DELIVERY OF RENEWAL INFORMATION.  FAILURE TO RECEIVE A NOTICE IS NOT A LEGITIMATE EXCUSE FOR NOT RENEWING YOUR PERMIT ON TIME.
  • STEP 2: COMPLETE RENEWAL PROCESS
    Remember that a mail-in renewal is $55.00 for the first sport and $27.00 for each additional sport an officials is eligible to renew.  On-line registration costs are $45.00 and $22.00 accordingly.  Those officials renewing by mail MUST list the sports that are being renewed.
  • Step 3: RENEWAL DEADLINE - JUNE 30.
    ON-LINE renewals must be completed prior to midnight June 30.  Renewals submitted after that time/date will require the additional $50.00 late fee.
    MAIL-IN renewals must be postmarked no later than June 30.   Renewals received with a post mark later than June 30th will be returned unless the late fee is included.

    After June 30th a $50.00 late renewal fee is required.  Late renewal deadlines are as follows:
    FALL SPORTS -       July 1 - July 31. No renewal for fall sports will be accepted after July 31.
    WINTER SPORTS - July 1- Oct 31.   No renewal for winter sports will be accepted after Oct 31.
    SPRING SPORTS - July 1 - Jan 31.   No renewal for spring sports will be accepted after Jan 31.

    MAIL-IN REMINDERS:
    • Make check payable to OHSAA
    • Enclose proper payment amount. 
    • Sign the your check
    • Postage is required, affix correct postage
    • Note address/phone number changes.  If you fail to correct your address, your permit can not reach you.
  • Step 4: RECEIVE NEW OFFICIATING PERMIT
    Once your renewal payment is processed your officiating permit for the upcoming school year will be issued.
  • If you have not received your permit by JULY 15:
    • Check with your credit card company or bank to insure that your payment was processed.
    • Call or Email Connie Scherpf at the OHSAA office at 614-267-2502 ext. 110 if payment was made, but no permit was received.
