Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Committee
In the fall of 1990, the OHSAA Board of Control authorized the formation of a standing committee
on Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity. The
committee was charged with the responsibility of developing and
overseeing programs to develop an awareness of the need for
sportsmanship, ethics and integrity in the schools of Ohio. Today, the
SEI committee is in charge of the
OHSAA School Sportsmanship Program which
awards deserving schools the
Respect The Game Challenge, the
Harold A. Meyer Award and the Commissioner’s Award for
Exceptional Sportsmanship.
In addition to developing the
OHSAA School Sportsmanship Program, the
SEI committee also
took the ideas and input
of administrators, coaches and student-athletes across Ohio and
implemented the Respect the Game program. This program is now combined
with the Respect the Game Respect
Yourself program that puts respect and sportsmanship into action.
The following individuals make up the Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Committee.
