North Canton Hoover comes from behind to claim fifth state championship

AKRON, Ohio Seeking its first state softball championship, Gahanna Lincoln took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but four-time state champion North Canton Hoover plated runs in four separate innings to come back for a 4-2 win and its fifth crown in the Division I championship game at Akron Firestone Stadium Saturday.

The sixth-ranked Hoover Vikings (29-3) have now won state championships in each of their five trips to the state tournament.
