2010 Boys State Soccer
Tournament Preview
COLUMBUS, Ohio--
The seminal matchups for boys will take place Tuesday Nov. 9 at
various venues around Ohio. Winners will advance to the state
championship game for their respective divisions, all of which will
be played at Columbus Crew Stadium. Finals will be played Friday
Nov. 12.
The Division I boys semifinal games are stocked with teams that
finished the season ranked in the top five of the state poll.
Top-ranked Cleveland St. Ignatius (21-0-0) will attempt to return to
the state championship game as they take on third-ranked Toledo St.
John’s Jesuit (20-1-0). On the other side of the bracket, Olentangy
Orange (19-2-0) will face fifth-ranked Centerville (19-0-2).
Division II semifinalists include third-ranked Dayton Carroll
(17-2-2) against Columbus Bishop Watterson (14-7-1), while
seventh-ranked Richfield Revere (19-2-0) will face off against the
winner of the Nov. 7 regional final matchup between Alliance
Marlington and Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit.
Semifinal matchups in boys Division III have second-ranked and 2009
state runner-up Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (16-3-1) taking on
third-ranked Toledo Ottawa Hills (17-2-2). The second matchup pits
defending state champion and currently seventh-ranked Worthington
Christian (15-4-2) against top-ranked Springfield Catholic Central
(21-1-0).
