GIRLS SOCCER STATE TOURNAMENTS
Division I: Senior midfielder Mary Boland scored twice in the final five
minutes to lead top-ranked Hudson (20-1-2) to a 2-1 win over unranked Cincinnati Mother of
Mercy in the state championship. It was the first state title for the Explorers, who were
runners-up last year and in 1995. In the semifinals, Hudson was a 2-1 winner over
Strongsville at Brecksville-Broadview Heights and Mother of Mercy defeated Columbus St.
Francis DeSales 2-1 at West Carrollton.
