OHSAA Foundation to Host Nation’s Largest Student Leadership Conference Oct. 4
The Ohio State University Student Union will welcome more than 1,500 students from OHSAA member schools
 
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The nation’s largest student leadership conference returns to the Ohio Union at The Ohio State University October 4 when a capacity crowd in excess of 1,500 students from around Ohio will gather for the annual Ohio High School Athletic Association Foundation Student Leadership Conference.
 
Led by professional speaker and event coordinator Harvey Alston, the theme of the 2016 conference is “Super Women in Athletics” and will feature eight women who will speak about leadership, achievement and overcoming adversity. The conference is free to attend for the first 1,500 students and is geared toward students in grades 9 through 11.

“Our member schools are to be commended for making this leadership conference a priority and selecting students who are positive role models and leaders in their communities,” said OHSAA Interim Commissioner Dave Gray. “This is a big part of what school sports are all about. Leadership is one of the many values that can be established by participation in interscholastic athletics, including sportsmanship, integrity, teamwork, discipline and academic accountability”
