OHSAA
Becomes NASPAA Affiliate Member
www.naspaa.net
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The OHSAA
has become an affiliate member of the National Association of Sports
Public Address Announcers (NASPAA), the professional association for
sports public address announcers.
“We
are excited to have the opportunity to partner with the OHSAA,”
remarked Brad Rumble, NASPAA Executive Director. “The OHSAA is to
be commended for its interest and commitment to improving the level
of competency and professionalism
of P.A. announcers who provide their services to OHSAA member
schools.”
“The NASPAA and the
OHSAA share similar core values and philosophy about P.A.
announcing,” commented Dr. Dan Ross, OHSAA Commissioner. “Because
P.A. announcers play an important role in the conduct of our
athletic contests, we need to make sure that they receive training
and education. There’s no better resource for P.A. announcing than
the NASPAA.
Schools that would
like to provide training and education for more than one of their
announcers can now do so by becoming an NASPAA School Member. For
only $69, schools receive six memberships, one of which is
designated for the athletic director.
Among the many
benefits offered by the NASPAA are discounts on P.A. announcer
clinics. Other membership benefits include the NASPAA Announcer of
the Year Awards Program and THE VOICE, the NASPAA’s newsletter,
which contains articles, tips and information about P.A.
announcing. To obtain a complimentary issue of THE VOICE, go to
http://www.naspaa.net/voice/thevoice.pdf.
More benefits appear on the NASPAA
website. Additional offerings will be forthcoming, including a Job
Posting Board, which will be available to schools to post P.A.
announcing jobs that they need to fill.
Membership
information and a list of membership benefits may be obtained at
www.naspaa.net.
