PARKING:
Parking is on a first-come, first served basis in the public lots around
the stadium. Typical cost is $3. There are no designated media parking
lots and media must pay to park as the City of Columbus controls the
parking lots in the Arena District.
SCHEDULE: Game times each day are at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00
p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The divisional rotation is II, I, III and IV.
MEDIA CREDENTIALS: Complete the official credential application
form and fax it (or scan and email it) to Tim Stried at the OHSAA office
(fax 614-267-1677, tstried@ohsaa.org). The deadline to submit requests
is 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29. Credentials will be held for pickup at the
home plate entrance at Huntington Park. Please be prepared to show
company identification. If the team you are covering wins its semifinal
game, the same credential is valid for the championship game.
NOTE ON MEDIA CREDENTIALS:
Please note that parents, school or “team” photographers and coaches may
not receive media credentials to OHSAA state tournaments. Media outlets
found to be in violation of this regulation could have reduced access at
future state tournaments.
CREDENTIAL CONFIRMATION: Upon processing an approved media
credential application, the OHSAA will send a confirmation email to the
media applicant. The confirmation email contains important information
about the state tournament and should be forwarded to all members of the
media covering the state tournament from that media outlet. The OHSAA
will also post a list on its website of those media members who have
been approved for credentials. The list will be posted by 10 a.m. on
Wednesday, May 30.
INTERNET ACCESS: Huntington Park has free wireless internet
access throughout the stadium. Please see Joe Santry in the third-base
side press box for log-in details, if needed.
MEDIA
WORKSPACE:
The top two rows of
table seating behind home plate are reserved for media use. Reporters
may continue working at their seats after each game. The stadium’s media
work room is located down the third-base line off the main hallway.
BROADCAST INFORMATION:
Broadcast rights fees must be paid before the game. Collection will
occur at your broadcast location. While media seating is ample, there
are only two phone lines available for broadcasts (must use an 800
number, a credit card, call collect or have the station call you). The
OHSAA and Joe Santry from the Clippers will coordinate seating placement
for broadcast crews. Postgame shows are asked to be brief if another
broadcast crew is waiting for a phone line that was being used during
the previous game.
PHOTOGRAPHS AVAILABLE:
Media outlets unable
to send a full-time photographer to a state tournament are encouraged to
use the OHSAA’s official photographer, Impact Action Sports Photography,
for their photo needs. Their website is
www.ImpactActionPhotos.com
(click on the media request form). Contact Joe Maiorana (photojoe2707@yahoo.com)
or Ben Barnes (barnziben@gmail.com)
with any questions.
AP
MARKETPLACE AVAILABLE:
Media outlets that are Associated Press members will have access to
regional and state tournament pairings, as well as box scores from all
12 state tournament games and recaps of the four championship games. The
box scores and recaps will also be posted on the baseball state
tournament coverage page at OHSAA.org.
