Ohio Football Stadiums Top ESPN List

Columbus, Ohio -- Canton Fawcett
Stadium and Massillon Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, sites of the OHSAA
state championships, were named No. 1 and No. 10, respectively,
among the nation's best high school stadiums, as voted by ESPN.
The list includes stadiums from across
the country including venues from other high school football hotbeds
California, Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania. The rankings recognize
the historic value, the atmosphere and the quality of the facilities
of the two Ohio stadiums.
The two stadiums are both located in
Stark County less than 12 miles apart and have rotated the state
championships evenly since 2000. Both facilities are slated for
upgrades in 2009 including a new press box at Fawcett Stadium and a
new facility at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium which will house a locker
room, classrooms and offices.
