If You Build It...
Ohio High
Schools Recognized in 'Real Field of Dreams' Contest
Atlanta, Ga. —
In Ohio, high school playing fields such as Canton Fawcett Stadium
and Massillon's Paul Brown Tiger Stadium have long been recognized
as some of the best facilities in prep athletics.
Now,
you can add four more high schools and their stadiums to that list.
Cincinnati Oak Hills, Uniontown Lake, Cincinnati Wyoming and
Zanesville were all honored as finalists in the Search for the Real
Field of Dreams, a contest conducted by the Synthetic Turf Council
that searched the country for the high school with the most
compelling story behind its synthetic turf field.
All
four schools recently completed renovations to their fields, through
both public fundraising and private donations, which has allowed for
greater access to their facilities – more games, more practices, and
more community involvement.
Seven
other high schools from Ohio were also nominated for the honor:
Cincinnati Colerain, Cincinnati Elder, Cincinnati LaSalle, Lockland,
Mason, Cincinnati Turpin and Upper Arlington.
