Tournament Entry:   Schools shall send the “School Information Form” to the Sectional Managers no later than Monday, January 8, 2007. Schools shall send the “Eligibility Certificate” to the Sectional Managers no later than Saturday, January 27, 2007.   To obtain the School Information Form for Swimming & Diving go to www.ohsaa.org/sports/swimming/default.asp 

All Sectional Tournament swimming and diving forms must be submitted electronically to the Sectional Tournament Managers (Columbus Academy - John Wuorinen – wuorinen@columbusacademy.org; Upper Arlington - Todd Grant – l.timberman@gmail.com; Thomas Worthington – Frank Croft – croft.3@osu.edu) not later than Noon on Monday, February 5, 2007.  Entries and diving forms received after 12 Noon on Monday, February 5, 2007 shall not be accepted.  Coaches have received an information sheet with instructions about the electronic entry system at the mandatory rules interpretation meetings.  This information is also posted on the OHSAA web site at www.ohsaa.org/sports/swimming/default/asp.  Tournament event files for the Sectional Tournaments are located on the OHSAA web site.

Diving:  There will be no diving competition at the Sectional Tournament.  All Diving competition will be held at the Dublin Community Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road, Dublin, 43017.  Boys Diving – February 13, 2007; Girls Division II – February 14, 2007; Girls Division I – February 15, 2007.  The Diving Event counts as an individual event and the diver(s) must be entered on the Sectional Entry Form.   Also, the diver’s diving form must be received by the Sectional Manager by 12 Noon, February 5, 2007.

Boys District Swimming Qualifiers: One individual/relay in each event from each Sectional Tournament to the District Tournament at Ohio University.  In addition, the next twenty-seven individuals/relays from all Central, East and Southeast Sectional Tournaments will be at-large qualifiers to the District Tournament at Ohio University.

Girls Division I District Swimming Qualifiers: One individual/relay in each event from each Central District Sectional Tournament to the District Tournament at Ohio University.  The East and Southeast Sectional Tournaments will qualify as at-large competitors to the District Tournament.  In addition, the next twenty-nine individuals/relays from all Central, East and Southeast Sectional Tournaments will be at-large qualifiers to the District Tournament at Ohio University.

Girls Division II District Swimming Qualifiers: One individual/relay in each event from each Sectional Tournament to the District Tournament at Ohio University.  In addition, the next twenty-seven individuals/relays from all Central, East and Southeast Sectional Tournaments will be at-large qualifiers to the District Tournament at Ohio University.

District Swimming Tournament: February 16 and 17, 2007.

Girls Division I - Saturday, February 17
            Swim Warm-up Competition Pool – 4:30 PM – 5:50 PM
            Coaches Meeting – 5:00 PM
            Girls DI Competition – 6:00 PM (30 min. break after the fly)
            All events timed finals Medley Rel. through the 400 Fr. Relay
            There will be 4 heats with 8 swimmers in each heat for all events. 

Note: Swimming warm-ups are available in the non-competitive pool area the entire duration of the meet. 

Spectators: The doors to the seating area will be open ninety minutes prior to the start of the competition.  No air horns or loud noise making devices will be permitted in the natatorium.  The use of video taping equipment must adhere to the O.H.S.A.A. policy.  FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY IS PROHIBITED AT THE START OF EACH RACE.  Spectators taking pictures/video must not interfere with other spectators.  The tournament site will not provide sources of power for video equipment. Any spectator/athlete/coach that desires to use a camera in the Aquatic Center must first receive approval and a pass from the Aquatic Center's administration.  To receive approval/pass for your camera equipment you must call (740) 593-4670 ext."0" or (740) 593-0109 or (740) 593-4671.  This policy will be strictly enforced.

Admission: $6.00 per person for each session.  Cheerleaders, timers, etc. must pay the admission price.  The admission price has been determined by the Central District Athletic Board.

There is no “Reserved Seating”.  Spectators may not in any way attempt to “save” seats for other spectators.  Coolers, large bags, hand held banners, signs, noisemakers, balloons, and umbrellas are prohibited from being brought into the Aquatic Center seating areas.  Items obstructing the view of others or items taking more space than a seat are prohibited.  Individuals not complying with these rules will be removed from the seating area and will not be reimbursed there ticket cost.

Only those individuals that have purchased a spectator’s ticket will be permitted to sit in the spectator bleachers area. No competing swimmers or coaches will be permitted in the spectator area during the meet competition.  Only swimmers and coaches with credentials will be permitted on the pool deck during the meet competition. 

District Diving Tournament: February 13, 14 and 15, 2007.
Boys: Tuesday, February 13; Girls Division I: Thursday, February 15, Girls Division II: Wednesday, February 14.

Diving Entries:  All diving entrants must be entered on the Sectional Swimming & Diving Entry Form and the entry form and Diver’s Sheet must be submitted to your assigned Sectional Tournament Manager by 12 Noon, Monday, February 5, 2007.

Each school may enter a maximum of 4 divers in the diving event.  The diving event counts as one of the two individual events in which an individual may compete.  If an individual is diving, that individual may only be entered and compete in a maximum of one individual swimming event in the Sectional Meet.

No diver will be entered unless they are entered on the OHSAA official tournament entry form and submitted with the swim entries.  Diving sheets will not be accepted the day of the meet.  Diving sheets must be submitted to your assigned sectional meet director by Noon, Monday, Feb. 5, 2007.  Diving sheets may altered up to one hour before the meet.

Dive sheets enclosed in your coaches packet must be used. Diving sheets other than those enclosed will NOT be accepted.   All copies of the diving form must be signed by the diver and coach.  Each diving sheet must indicate a dive description, the dive number, dive position, and DD for each dive.  Diving forms/sheets not bearing the signatures of the coach and diver shall not be accepted for review.

Diving Information: The springboard diving competition shall follow the Championship Diving format as outlined in the 2006-2007 National Federation Swimming & Diving Rule book.

Read and understand the rules for championship competition.

Dives must be performed in the order written.

Divers not competing will not be permitted on the boards.

Championship scoring for 16 places will be followed. 

Coaches and divers will be permitted into the competition with a contestant’s pass.  Contestant’s passes may be picked up at the pool entrance by the school’s designated coach(es).   Please instruct your divers that they will not be permitted into the pool area until a coach distributes the contestant passes.  Team members, stats, cheerleaders, etc., must pay the $6.00 admission fee.

All coaches and divers must follow the Dublin Recreation Center policies and procedures.  A coach or competing diver that has a membership to the Dublin Rec. Center must follow the same meet policies and procedures as all other coaches/competitors.

No contestant may bring food or any beverage other than water into the pool.   Coolers are not permitted into the pool area.   Any contestant using the recreational pool area will be disqualified from further competition.

Boys Division I State Qualifiers: Six divers and three individuals/relays in each swimming event plus eleven at-large individuals/relays in each swimming event from all statewide District Tournaments to the State Tournament at Branin Natatorium, Canton.

Girls Division I State Qualifiers: Five divers and three individuals/relays in each swimming event plus eleven at-large individuals/relays in each swimming event from all statewide District Tournaments to the State Tournament at Branin Natatorium, Canton.

Girls Division II State Qualifiers: Six divers and four individuals/relays in each swimming event plus eleven at-large individuals/relays in each swimming event from all statewide District Tournaments to the State Tournament at Branin Natatorium, Canton.
