Two Ways to Apply: 

  1. Print the 2024 Baseball Credential Application Form and submit per the instructions at the top of the form.

2024 OHSAA Baseball Credential Application
Must be submitted by editor or assigner. Deadline: Tuesday, June 4 at noon
No parents of state qualifiers permitted. Confirmation email will be sent with details and instructions, including parking. Media must show photo ID to pick-up credential.

The following information is provided to assist the media covering the upcoming OHSAA baseball state tournament. Please contact Scott Rex ([email protected]) or Tim Stried ([email protected]) at the OHSAA office if you have additional questions. Additional information will be posted on the OHSAA web site (www.ohsaa.org) the week of each state tournament.
 
YOUR HOSTS: OHSAA Baseball Administrator Emily Mason ([email protected]), OHSAA Media Relations Assistant Scott Rex ([email protected]) and OHSAA Director of Media Relations Tim Stried ([email protected]).
 
SCHEDULE: Game times each day are at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The divisional rotation in 2024 is II, I, III and IV.
 
STADIUM INFORMATION:

PARKING: There are no media parking passes or designated media parking lots. Being situated in a downtown ballpark, the Akron RubberDucks do not own or control any parking lots. Many city of Akron lots are as little as $2 and free after 6:00 PM Friday and all-day Saturday and Sunday.

MEDIA CREDENTIALS: Media shall complete the official credential application form and email it to Scott Rex at the OHSAA office ([email protected]). The deadline to submit requests is noon on Tuesday, June 4. Credentials will be held for pickup at Canal Park at the Administrative Office entrance at 300 South Main Street. Please be prepared to show photo identification. If the team you are covering wins its semifinal game, the same credential is valid for the championship game.
 
NOTE ON MEDIA CREDENTIALS: Please note that parents of state qualifiers and coaches may not receive media credentials to OHSAA state tournaments. Media outlets found to request credentials for those individuals could have reduced access at future state tournaments.
 
CREDENTIAL CONFIRMATION: Upon processing a media credential application, the OHSAA will send a confirmation email to the media applicant. The confirmation email contains important information about the state tournament and should be forwarded to all members from the media outlet covering the state tournament. The OHSAA will also post a list on its website of those media members who have been approved for credentials. The list will be posted by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9.
 
INTERNET ACCESS: Canal Park has free wireless internet access throughout the stadium. Login information can be found in the welcome letter received at media check-in.
 
MEDIA WORKSPACE: Media work space will be available in the press box and designated suites, as determined by RubberDucks staff. Photographers and videographers are permitted to be in the dugouts.
 
VIDEO BROADCAST INFORMATION: Media outlets that request to do video play-by-play of an OHSAA state tournament contest shall contact Tim Stried at the OHSAA for details.
