		Brecksville-Broadview Heights wins ninth 
		consecutive state crown 
		
		 
		COLUMBUS, Ohio � The 
		2012 OHSAA state team gymnastics tournament was held Friday, March 2 at 
		Hilliard Bradley High School. Brecksville-Broadview Heights won its 
		ninth consecutive team competition (15th overall) by scoring 148.0 
		points to defeat second-place Mentor, which scored 143.875 points. 
		
		The  
		individual tournament was held Saturday, March 3 at Hilliard Bradley 
		High School. Mentor senior Kayla Kosmerl won the bars and took home 
		first in the all-around competition, scoring 37.875 points. Rounding out 
		the top six in the all-around were Brecksville-Broadview Heights 
		sophomore Michaela Romito (37.525), Avon junior Whitney Stoops (37.200), 
		Brecksville-Broadview Heights junior Jessica Matia (37.025), Perrysburg 
		senior Chelsea Williams (36.750) and Strongsville senior Amanda 
		Klosowski (36.525). 
		
		In addition to 
		Kosmerl�s two first place finishes in the all-around and the bars, she 
		also finished in the top six on beam (second), the vault (third) and the 
		floor competition (fifth). Romito repeated as a state champion in the 
		floor competition, won the beam and finished sixth on vault. Stoops also 
		repeated as a state champion on vault and finished sixth in the bars. 
		Williams finished her career with three fifth place finishes in the 
		state competition (all-around, vault, bars) while Klosowski finished 
		fourth on the bars. 
		
		The top six 
		placers on vault were Avon�s Stoops (9.725), Mentor�s Alexandra Aiello 
		(9.675), Mentor�s Kosmerl (9.650), Strongsville�s Erin Chips (9.575), 
		Perrysburg�s Williams (9.575) and Brecksville-Broadview Heights� Romito 
		(9.525). 
		
		The top six 
		placers on bars were Mentor�s Kosmerl (9.550), Lodi Cloverleaf�s Ashley 
		Rose (9.400), Cincinnati Sycamore�s Sara Wesselkamper (9.350), 
		Strongsville�s Klosowski (9.300), Perrysburg�s Williams (9.250) and 
		Avon�s Stoops (9.250). 
		
		The top six 
		finishers on beam were Brecksville-Broadview Heights� Romito (9.325), 
		Mentor�s Kosmerl (9.300), North Olmsted�s Quinn Kacirek (9.250), Powell 
		Olentangy Liberty�s Jackie Hayes (9.175), Lodi Cloverleaf�s Rose (9.075) 
		and Avon�s Stoops (9.050). 
		
		The top six 
		finishers in the floor competition were Brecksville-Broadview Heights� 
		Romito (9.675), Brecksville-Broadview Heights� Madison Weisbarth 
		(9.475), Cincinnati Anderson�s Regan Walden (9.400), Archbold�s Kinsey 
		Smith (9.375), Mentor�s Kosmerl (9.375) and Mason�s Amythest Gauthier 
		(9.350).
