We have one opening for our 1p game vs Newport (KY) in the 5th Annual Battle at the Berkey in 2026 on Saturday January 31st and Sunday February 1st at Smithville High School in Wayne County, Ohio. We feel this is one of the best boys' basketball events in Ohio due to its hospitality, exposure, and competitive environment. Teams traveling from far away often spend the night and we have several hotels that will be discounted. You will also receive 17 t-shirts, a media guide, and a free team meal upon request. In 4 years,  Colleges that have made visits to the Battle include Akron, Cleveland St., Duquesne, Ashland, Lake Erie, Malone, Walsh, Ohio Dominican, and several D3 schools. Recruiting coordinators from across Ohio have also made it an annual trip for them. 

 

Past teams have included Cincinnati Moeller, Mentor, Berlin Hiland, Harvest Prep, Newport from Kentucky, Aliquippa & Montour from Pennsylvania, Akron Hoban, Delaware Hayes, North Farmington & Summit Academy North from Michigan, Columbus Bishop Watterson, Bishop Ready, Hoover, Brunswick, Lutheran West, Lexington, and Margaretta among others. This annual event promises to be an exciting and competitive day, featuring some of the best talent that Kentucky girls basketball has to offer. We are currently looking to fill games at 4:15 pm vs Covington Holy Cross and 6:00pm vs Simon Kenton, both teams will be top-15 in the state next year. If travel time is an issue, we can help coordinate your stay with a local hotel and work to find you a competitive Friday night game to help make the trip worthwhile.
