  OHSAA Extends Partnership with Wilson Football

June 10 - Beginning in 2010, the Ohio High School Athletic Association will extend its current partnership with Wilson Sporting Goods Co. by five years to continue as the official football supplier of the OHSAA. Click here for full release.

  Football Officiating Clinics Announced

June 8 The Western Ohio Football Officials Association invites officials to attend its 2nd annual officiating clinic to be held August 8, 2009 at Shawnee High School in Lima. The OHSAA will also be sponsoring a clinic July 18 at Reynoldsburg High School. Click here for more information.

  New Enrollment Figures Result in 118 Football Schools Changing Divisions

May 7 – The OHSAA reassigns schools to divisions every other year, and changes in football resulted in 118 schools making divisional changes for 2009 and 2010 from the last two years. Click here for more.

  Third Preseason Game, Jamboree Now Permitted

April 16 – OHSAA football schools will be permitted to participate in a third preseason contest, known as a Jamboree, which is played under game-like conditions. Click here for the complete release.

   Football Athletes Must Protect Their Eligibility

March 17 – Football players and their parents are reminded that any kind of out-of season play may cause ineligibility for the 2009 school season.  Football players are prohibited from participation in any contact football (camps, clinics, leagues, etc.) outside of the school season. Non-contact football, such as 7 on 7 or passing leagues, are permitted ONLY during the months of June and July. Football athletes may participate in combines.

   Football Practice May Begin Aug. 3

Feb. 20 – A universal football practice start date of Aug. 3 was approved by the OHSAA Board of Directors during its February meeting. More information will be released in the spring. As a reminder, no contact is permitted until the sixth day of practice.

Dec. 4 - Association picks up options for 2010 and 2011 championships in Massillon and Canton.
