2022 State Championship Games - Saturday, June 4 - Historic Crew Stadium

Division II State Championship Game
Columbus St. Francis DeSales 20, Chagrin Falls 6 | STATS
COLUMBUS, Ohio - David Chintala scored a state-championship record nine goals to lead Columbus St. Francis DeSales to a 20-6 win over Chagrin Falls in the 2022 Division II boys lacrosse state championship game at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus.
 
DeSales (16-4) won its second state title in its third trip to the state tournament. Chagrin Falls (18-4) finished runner-up for the second straight year after having won the championship in 2019.
 
Chintala scored seven goals in the first half as the Stallions built an 11-5 halftime lead, and he scored twice more and recorded an assist as DeSales scored the game’s final nine goals. Liam Harmon added three goals for DeSales, while Blake Carawan, Ty Hampton and Jackson Carawan each scored twice.
 
Fritz Clark tallied three goals and an assist to lead Chagrin Falls.

 
Division I State Championship Game
Upper Arlington 12, Dublin Jerome 10 | STATS
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Upper Arlington claimed its first boys lacrosse state championship, defeating Dublin Jerome, 12-10, in the Division I state title game at Historic Crew Stadium.
 
The Golden Bears scored three goals in a span of 2:35 in the fourth quarter to break a 9-9 tie and go in front for good. The score was tied seven different times, and neither team led by more than two goals until Upper Arlington’s late flurry.
 
Leo Caine scored the last of his game-high four goals with 6:41 remaining to give UA a 10-9 lead. Tommy Janowicz scored 26 seconds later to make it 11-9, and Chris Mazzaferri’s goal with 4:06 left stretched the lead to 12-9.
 
Janowicz tallied three goals for Upper Arlington (22-1), while Mazzaferri and Jack Caine both scored twice. Preston Everhart netted three goals to lead Jerome (19-3).
 
The two goalies—Upper Arlington’s Tyler Burkhart and Jerome’s Brady White—made 14 saves apiece to set a new individual state championship game record.
 
The game was a rematch of the 2021 state championship game, which Jerome won 12-11. Both schools now have one boys lacrosse state championship to go along with one runner-up finish.
