Lakewood St. Edward Wins 38th Division I State Title, Marcus Blaze Completes Four-peat
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2025 OHSAABoys Wrestling State Tournament ended Sunday at the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus with St. Edward winning their 10th consecutive state title. The Egales totaled 258 points across the three-day tournament establishing a new record for Division 1 point total, with Massillon Perry finishing runner-up with 198 points.
Perrysburg finished third with 180.5 points, followed by Brecksville-Broadview Heights with 120.5 points and Dublin Coffman with 84.5 points.
St. Edward finished with three state champions, four runners-up and six additional state placers. Junior Karson Brown (126), senior Tyrel Miller (175), and senior Jarrel Miller (190) all won state championships in their weight class for the Eagles. This is Karson Brown’s third consecutive state title, previously winning the 120-pound championship in 2024 and the 113-pound championship in 2023.
Massillon Perry had three state champions, two runners-up, and eight additional state placers. Junior Mason Rohr (132), senior Joseph Sanderfer Jr. (144), and senior Landen Johnson (165) all brought home state championships for the Panthers. Liston Seibert (120) and Mike Millin (285) finished runners-up.
Perrysburg senior Marcus Blaze (150) won his fourth-consecutive state title, his previous championships in the 120-pound weight class. Perrysburg senior Cole Evans (157) won his second-consecutive state title, previously in the 126-weight class.
Also winning state championships were Brecksville junior Ryland Seacrist (113), St. Xavier sophomore Kane Shawger (138), Mount Vernon junior Alex Taylor (285), and senior Will Adkins (215) from Moeller.
Boys Division II
Bishop Watterson Claims First Wrestling Title
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus Bishop Watterson won its first OHSAA Division II Boys Wrestling State Championship Sunday at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
Following Bishop Watterson’s 108 points, Columbus St. Francis DeSales received runner up totaling 74.5 points, and Sandusky Perkins in third with 72.5 points.
Bishop Watterson finished with two state champions, two runners-up, and one additional state placer. Senior Mitchell Younger won the 144-pound weight class and Michael Boyle won the 215-pound weight class. Freshman Tommy Rowlands (138) and junior James Lindsay (150) received runners-up for their weight class. Freshman Thomas Lindsay placed fourth in the 132-weight class.
DeSales finished with two wrestlers receiving runners-up and two wrestlers finishing third. Sophomore Joel Welch (165) and senior Andrew Barford (175) both received runners-up in their weight classes. Freshman Josh Sheets (120) and senior Lincon Shulaw (190) placed third in their weight classes.
St. Marys Memorial senior Tate Hisley (132) won his second-consecutive state title, previously in the 126-pound weight class. Columbus Bishop Hartley senior Aiden King (138) won his second-consecutive state title, previously in the 132-pound weight class.
Thornville Sheridan senior Coltyn Reedy (157) and freshman Maddox Laymon (120) won their first state title for their weight classes. Kettering Archbishop Alter sophomore Bronson Begley (126) and junior Rod Owens (175) also won their first state titles.
Also taking home state titles were Woodridge sophomore Gavin Genovese (113), Streetsboro sophomore Jarreau Walker (106), West Holmes junior Louden Dixon (150), Reading senior Gage Murphy (165), Hoban freshman Brydon Feister (190), and Gates Mills Hawken senior Will Greenberg.
Boys Division III
After 23 Consecutive State Championships in Division II, St. Paris Graham Local Claims First Division III State Championship
COLUMBUS, Ohio – St. Paris Graham Local, after dominating Division II for 23 years, won its first state championship in Division III at the OHSAA Division III Boys Wrestling State Tournament. Finishing with 174.5 points, this is Graham’s 24th consecutive championship.
Delta finished as runner-up, with 103.5 points. Following Delta were Waynedale in third with 84.5 point, Mentor Lake Catholic in fourth with 73.5 points, and Milan Edison in fifth with 57.5 points.
Graham finished with one state champion, two runners-up, and seven additional placers. Senior Brogan Tucker (150) claimed his third-consecutive state title, previously in the 144-pound weight class. Junior Jake Landis (113) and sophomore Blaine DeMarco (132) received runners-up in their weight classes. Freshman Jake Hoke (175) and sophomore Danny Hoke (215) placed third, junior Baden Root and freshman Kyler Crooks (165) placed fourth.
Delta finished with one state champion, one runner-up, and four additional state placers. Delta senior Adam Mattin (126) won his third state title, previously winning in the 113-pound division and 106-pound division. Junior Tyler Barnes (120) received runner-up in his weight class.
Columbia freshman Bodey Gibbs (106), Genoa Area junior Scotty Fuller (113), Miami East sophomore Spencer Shore, and Legacy Christian junior Nathan Attisano (132) all won state championships in their respective weight classes.
Also taking home titles were Delphos St. John’s junior Edward Kessen (138), Lima Central Catholic sophomore Jordan Neal (144), Beachwood junior Caleb Greenwood (150), Kansas Lakota senior Braxton Quaintance (165), Milan Edison senior Luke James (175), Mechanicsburg senior Ronnie Thomas (190), and Mentor Lake Catholic sophomore Danny Zmorowski (215), and Fairless senior Collin Sullivan (285).

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Olentangy Orange entered the state tournament with seven state qualifiers, and each of them wound up on the awards podium following the state tournament which ran March 7-9 at Ohio State.
With 111.5 points, the Pioneers captured their second consecutive team title while Marysville finished runner-up (80.5), Greeneview was third (59) and Findlay (58) and Massillon Perry (54) rounded out the top five.
Jackson senior Makennah Craft left with her fourth state championship, defeating Tinora junior Bella Graziani 19-4 for the championship at 100 pounds as she finished 44-0.
Casstown Miami East senior Kira Cole, who was a state champion in 2023 and a runner-up last season, beat Kettering Alter junior Alora Strauser 9-3 for the 130 title.
Findlay senior Laney Oliver, who lost in state finals each of the past three seasons, defeated Lakewood senior Zayna Muntaser 14-0 for the title at 190.
That came moments after Oliver's senior teammate, Kate Simmons, pinned junior two-time defending champion Elizabeth Madison from Loveland in 1 minute, 22 seconds to win the 170 championship.
Mount Vernon junior Ashlynn Brokaw edged Urbana sophomore Libertie Nigh 7-6 for the title at 105 after taking third at the same weight a year ago.
Lakota East sophomore Camryn Gresham, who was a fifth-place finisher last season, won the title at 110 when she beat Marysville sophomore Cami Leng 4-1.
Gahanna Lincoln sophomore KyLee Tibbs was the runner-up at 140 last season but beat Greeneview sophomore Lily Hendricks 15-12 for this year’s title.
Winning the 145 championship was Pickerington North senior Reagan Knapp, who pinned Greeneview senior Eve Matt in 1:03.
Berea-Midpark junior Deionna Borders closed out her season at 47-0, defeating Indian Lake junior Maddie Miller 5-0 to win the title at 235.
West Chester Lakota West junior Kelsey King pinned Miamisburg sophomore Lila Krull in 41 seconds for the 125 championship. Alliance senior Abigail Mozden defeated Logan freshman Brooklyn Whited 17-8 for the championship at 135.
Bellbrook senior Jada Weiss beat Lebanon junior Natalie Carlisle 7-4 for the 155 title.
Leading Orange was sophomore Mackenzie Carder, who was pinned by Steubenville sophomore Talea Guntrum in 5:49 in the title bout at 120.
Also for the Pioneers, senior Lydia Heinrich was third at 170 while Marysville also had a third-place finisher in senior Addi Lyon at 135.
