OHSAA Baseball State Tournament Pairings and Information
State tournament begins Friday at Canal Park in Akron

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association regional baseball tournaments concluded Sunday afternoon and the OHSAA has announced the pairings for this week’s state tournament, which begins Friday at Canal Park in Akron. It marks the OHSAA’s final state tournament of the 2018-19 school year.

The divisional order of play this year at the state tournament is I, IV, II and III. Tickets are $8 at the gate. All 12 games will be on the OHSAA Radio Network and there will be a pay-per-view stream option available, as well.

Last year, the OHSAA Board of Directors approved a proposal from the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association to extend the baseball regular-season by one week, thus the sectional tournaments began a week later this year. Huntington Park in Columbus had hosted the state tournament since it opened in 2009, but its home team, the Clippers, have a homestand this week. The baseball state tournament will be at Canal Park this week and again in 2020. Canal Park is home to the RubberDucks, the minor league AA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.

After hosting the OHSAA softball state tournament this past weekend, Akron has branded these two weeks as “Double Play Akron.” The city’s promotional video is posted at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNr9qMv0up8
