Divisional Breakdowns - 2025-26 School Year

OHSAA tournament divisions are determined by processes set forth in OHSAA General Sports Regulation 17.  Additional Business Rules have also been approved by the Board of Directors to allow for the timely and transparent creation of the divisions. Changes to tournament division enrollment cutoffs after Board of Directors approval may occur if there was an error during this process that would apply to all schools.  Therefore, changes to an individual school’s data and/or tournament participation will NOT modify the approved tournament divisions.

For individual OHSAA tournament sports, the minimum number of individuals required for a team designation is as follows:
 
Bowling 5 Swimming & Diving 6
Cross Country 5 Tennis 4
Golf 4 Track & Field 9
Gymnastics 3 Wrestling 7

Football

OHSAA football divisions and regions for the 2025 season were approved by the OHSAA Board of Directors on April 24, 2025. The list below contains the schools that were eligible to participate in the 2024 tournament, which is used to determine the divisional breakdowns/cutoffs for the 2025 tournament. This is NOT the final list of schools that will be eligible to participate in the 2025 tournament, as schools have until October 7 to make changes to their tournament participation. In addition, multi-high school districts that restructure their high schools are required to have their enrollment reclassified as of September 10, which may change their assigned tournament division.
