Together with representatives of the city of Obetz and tournament management, the decision has been made to cancel the Cross Country Pre-Season Invitational scheduled for this Saturday, August 22nd. The course still has standing water due to rain from the past week and more rain expected this week. With the majority of the course under water and with additional rain in the forecast, it will be impossible to mitigate the standing water to set up the course or safely hold the meet this weekend. We also need to ensure that the course is in great condition for our championship events on October 25 and November 7. The meet will not be rescheduled.
The OHSAA Cross Country Preseason Invitational is your chance to preview the state championship course and experience the championship environment. No matter if you are trying to motivate young athletes or prepare your veterans for the postseason, this invitational is your chance to do both.

Registration: Now Open to all OHSAA member high school cross country teams by clicking on the appropriate meet page linked above. Registration will close on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.; NO late entries or additions will be accepted. Schools MUST use their OHSAA approved Athletic.net Team Page.
Changes: Coaches who wish to make substitutions after the entry deadline will be able to do so until noon on Friday, August 21 using the electronic change form. If substitutions need to be made after noon the deadline, they can be made by completing a substitution form and turning it in to the timing team at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled race. No substitutions will be accepted via phone, email, text, or verbally. The change form will be sent to coaches after the registration window closes
Box Assignments - TBD
Packet Pick Up: Packets must be picked up by a board-approved coach (no parents) with a valid Pupil Activity Permit at the pavilion near the school transportation lot. The packets will include athletes' bibs and coaches' admission wristbands that must be worn on the wrist. Each team participating will receive 3 wristbands, allowing course access.
Meet Pricing
Payment: Payment must be made when registering for the meet in Athletic.net. You will be asked to pre-authorize a credit card when registering for the meet. The card on file will then be charged automatically when registration closes. Fees are based on registration not participation
