Team Competition
Brecksville-Broadview Heights Captures 19th-Consecutive Team State Gymnastics Title
HILLIARD, Ohio – Brecksville-Broadview Heights continued its dominance in girls gymnastics by claiming the Bees’ 19th-straight state title and 22nd overall state championship in school history at the 2022 OHSAA Gymnastics State Tournament on Friday night at Hilliard Bradley High School.
 
The Bees had first-place finishes in three of the four gymnastics events to tally 147.50 points. Brecksville-Broadview Heights took home the top spot in vault (37.70), uneven parallel bars (36.83) and floor exercise (37.85) while placing ninth in balance beam (35.13).
Medina was the state runner-up for the first time since 2006 with 145.03 points. The Battling Bees had three top-three finishes by taking first place in balance beam (37.33), second place in uneven parallel bars (35.43) and third place in floor exercise (37.13). Medina took eighth place in vault (35.15). Chagrin Falls Kenston finished in third (144.73) and Brunswick placed fourth (144.3).
 
Individual Competition
Dublin Jerome’s Raegan Ernst Wins State Tournament All-Around Competition
HILLIARD, Ohio – Dublin Jerome senior Raegan Ernst earned all-around honors at the 2022 OHSAA Gymnastics State Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Hilliard Bradley High School.
Ernst recorded three top-three finishes in the individual competition with taking first in uneven parallel bars (9.48), third in floor exercise (9.48) and tied for fourth in balance beam (9.33). She also tied for eighth in vault (9.33). The senior totaled 37.60 points through all four events.
 
Chagrin Falls Kenston junior Mary Cowan finished second in the all-around with 37.58 total points. Cowan finished second in the balance beam (9.40), tied for fifth in the vault (9.45), tied for sixth in the floor exercise (9.40) and did not participate in the uneven parallel bars.
Rocky River Magnificat sophomore Annmarie Canzoni won the balance beam (9.45). Brecksville-Broadview Heights’ freshman Gianna Ravagnani finished first in the floor exercise (9.53) and tied for first place with Brecksville-Broadview Heights’ senior teammate Erin Delahunty (9.63) in the vault.

3:30 p.m. Parade of competitors and introduction of officials
3:40 p.m. Teams 1-4 warm-up first events in warm-up gymnasium; teams 9-12 BYE
4 p.m. Teams 5-8 warm-up first events in warm-up gymnasium; teams 9-12 BYE
Teams continue to rotate from warm-up to competition to bye round until all four events have been completed. At that time, the Parade of Competitors and awards ceremony will follow immediately. Estimated time of competition: 4 hours and 45 minutes.
 
Saturday, March 5 - Individual Competition (Divided into Eight Squads)

11:30 a.m. Parade of Champions and introduction of officials

Squads continue to rotate from the warm-up to competition until all four events have been completed. At the same time, the Parade of Competitors and awards of ceremony will follow immediately. Estimated time of competition: three hours
