COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association has renewed its partnership with the online Master of Athletic Administration (MAA) program at Ohio University.

The OHIO MAA program prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to effectively lead interscholastic athletic programs and advance their careers. Students benefit from Ohio’s five decades of experience in sports education and learn from expert faculty with professional ties to the industry.

“Our continuing partnership with the OHSAA allows us to further our mission of developing the best interscholastic athletic directors in Ohio and around the country,” said Aaron Wright, director of Ohio University’s online MAA program.

“We are excited to work with Ohio University and help prepare the next generation of athletic administrators,” said Doug Ute, OHSAA Executive Director. “The role that interscholastic athletics plays in the development of young people is so important. It’s where they learn life lessons and so many skills that stay with them long after their playing days are done. Athletic administrators play a key role in that development and the program at OHIO helps future athletic administrators for that important position.”

The part-time MAA program can be completed in less than two years and does not require the GRE. With online coursework and a three-day on-campus Athletic Leadership Forum, students can balance personal and professional responsibilities. Through its partnership with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), the online MAA program focuses specifically on best practices and core competencies in managing education-based athletic programs, helping athletic administrators support students and coaches to succeed on and off the field.
